For the past 17 years, the Miller-Dwan Foundation has hosted this leading fundraising event that has helped to transform healthcare in our area. Every year, we receive remarkable, and often one-of-a-kind, donations from many of our community’s businesses and citizens. Over the years, we’ve used ARTcetera proceeds to fill healthcare gaps and create some of our area’s most meaningful healthcare options – options that serve you, your employees, neighbors and loved ones. Please help us in reaching out to create healthier people, healthier families and a healthier community.
Join ARTcetera chairperson, Susan Skytta, for an uplifting experience. ARTcetera will feature over 120 unique experiences, gourmet dinners, once-in-a-lifetime travel opportunities and luxury services.
ARTcetera 2016 aims to wrap up the Miller-Dwan Foundation’s Healing Space Campaign to completely transform the largest adult inpatient behavioral health unit in our community. A true regional resource, the inpatient unit located in the Miller-Dwan Building cares for nearly 1,300 patients each year from throughout northeastern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin. Patients from young adults to our elders, with a variety of diagnoses, come seeking compassionate care and the chance to again be well and whole.
The Healing Space Campaign is more than just a renovation of space, it is simply about patients and the care they receive. Effective behavioral health care relies on environment and specially trained staff. Patients learn to overcome and manage their illness better in environments specifically designed to facilitate wellness. The Healing Space Campaign will ensure vital areas such as exercise space, a spiritual center, space for movement, art and other therapies, as well as a resource center and family meeting space will be included. The treatments that occur in these spaces paired with individual and group therapies will take behavioral health care to a new level in our region and allow patients to flourish well into the future.
